Building trust before scale.

Hydrogenera needed to establish credibility in a complex, technical market. The challenge was not demand generation. It was credibility in a market where trust is earned slowly and mistakes are costly.

Project context

My role and the results.

My contribution
I developed the digital marketing foundation: positioning, content, LinkedIn audience development, and paid campaigns to test demand. My contribution was to the company’s market presence and communication.
Project timing
The 517% compares sales revenue in Q2 2024 with Q2 2023. Hydrogenera’s IPO auction took place on 24 June 2025; that date marks the public offering, not the reporting period for the marketing figures.
What the figures describe
The 97,000+ website views and 8,000+ LinkedIn followers describe digital reach and audience growth. The 517% growth in sales revenue, Q2 2024 against Q2 2023, is a company-wide result. Revenue growth and the initial public offering (IPO) also depended on the company’s engineering, sales, leadership, and financing work.

The challenge

When I started working with Hydrogenera, their engineering was world-class, but their digital footprint was non-existent. There was no active strategy, no audience, and no historical data. I wasn’t optimising an existing engine; I was building one from zero.

In a sector defined by long sales cycles and high trust, invisibility is a liability. To support their upcoming IPO, Hydrogenera needed to rapidly establish itself as a credible European technology leader, validating their valuation before the market started watching.

The approach

This work focused on launching Hydrogenera’s brand in the market through digital. Not as promotion, but as infrastructure for trust and growth.

The goal was to turn Hydrogenera’s expertise into genuine authority. That meant creating a complete digital foundation that could grow strategically, creatively, and sustainably.

Key architectural decisions

  • Decision 01

    Build trust before scale.

I excluded broad reach campaigns. I focused purely on credibility markers to prove the technology.

  • Decision 02

    Educate > Selling.

I excluded sales-led copy. Content translated complex systems into narratives investors could understand.

  • Decision 03

    Validate, don’t inflate.

I excluded vanity metrics. Paid media was used strictly to capture intent and test messaging resonance.

The work

  1. Early stability

    Building a trusted community

Grew LinkedIn from zero to 8,000+ followers, turning a silent brand into an active presence for industry dialogue, partners, and investors.

  2. Market clarity

    Market education through content

Translated complex engineering into executive-ready narratives, enabling stakeholders and investors to clearly understand the technology’s value.

  3. Validation

    Demand validation via paid media

Used precise, modest-budget campaigns to capture intent and validate market interest without wasting spend on broad awareness.

The outcome

What began as a digital foundation evolved into the market presence that supported a public listing. By IPO, the company had a clear market narrative, an engaged industry audience, and the consistent visibility expected of a public company. Hydrogenera completed its IPO auction on 24 June 2025. The credibility infrastructure built over the preceding years meant the market already knew who they were.
